Edward Tobinick is an American physician who has developed novel therapeutic approaches for a variety of clinical disorders for which there exists widespread unmet medical need, including Alzheimer's Disease and severe neuropathic pain. His career in biomedical research began as an undergraduate at Brandeis University and continued as a medical student at UCSD School of Medicine in La Jolla, California. He is co-author of a widely used medical textbook, has won awards for his medical teaching, and is a competitive swimmer, artist, and photographer. He has been awarded 18 U.S. patents in the fields of neurology, oncology, immunotherapeutics, and laser medicine.
With regard to clinical medicine, I have particular interests in new methods of therapeutic intervention for diseases with widespread medical need. For the past decade I have concentrated particularly on new methods of administration and use of biologic antagonists of inflammatory cytokines.
